Departure Procedures
ATC Clearance, Start-Up and Pushback
DEL · 121.800 MHz
- Airport Collaborative Decision Making (ACDM) is in progress at RCTP.
- Submit your TOBT through Taipei ACDM / VDGS.
- Call Taipei Delivery for your IFR clearance 15 minutes before your TOBT.
- When requesting clearance, provide your callsign, parking bay, proposed flight level and ATIS code.
Ground
GND · 121.700 or 121.600 MHz
- Select transponder Mode C before requesting pushback.
- Unless otherwise approved, all engines should be started and the aircraft ready to taxi by the end of pushback.
- Aircraft at Terminal B, Terminal C and remote stands 601–615 contact Taipei Ground on 121.600; all other aprons use 121.700.
Tower
TWR · 118.700 MHz
- A minimum departure separation interval of 2 minutes applies between successive departures.
Initial Altitude
Departing traffic should anticipate an initial altitude of 3,000 ft before Taipei Approach or Taipei Control assigns a further level.
Transition Altitude
The transition altitude is 11,000 ft.
Arrival Procedures
Runway and STAR Assignment
- For approach, expect the JAMMY transition for Runway 05 and the AUGUR transition for Runway 23.
- In the arrival downwind, expect to level at 9,000 ft when abeam the airport.
- Arrival routing depends on the FIR entry point and runway in use, as summarized below.
| Entry Point | Runway 05 | Runway 23 | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| STAR | Descent Planning | STAR | Descent Planning | |
| SALMI SULEM KASKA | BAKER 1A | Cross COPRA at FL200 | BAKER 1B | Cross COPRA at FL140 |
| BULAN | DRAKE 1A | Cross DRAKE at FL200 | DRAKE 1B | Cross DRAKE at FL140 |
| SEDKU | GRACE 1A | Cross GRACE at FL200 | GRACE 1B | Cross GRACE at FL140 |
| ENVAR OLDID | TONGA 1A | Cross BOCCA at FL290 | TONGA 1B | Cross BOCCA at FL290 |
| KAPLI POTIB | TNN 1A | Cross MENON, ARLEN or ABSOL at FL290 | TNN 1B | Cross MENON, ARLEN or ABSOL at FL290 |
Actual descent clearances are issued by ATC. The table is planning guidance only. The runway in use is broadcast on RCTP ATIS, 127.600 MHz.
Arrival Speed Control
This applies to arrivals via STARs, under radar vectors or deviating for weather, unless otherwise instructed by ATC or entering a holding pattern.
- At or below FL250 and at or above FL130: maintain 280 KT IAS.
- Below FL130 and at or above 10,000 ft: maximum 280 KT IAS.
Transition Level
The transition level is FL130.
Approach Speed Control
